What the tour price does not include:

The price does not include fishing licenses or optional tips for the boat crew. The cost of the required fishing licenses (approx. $ 17 p.p.) Each group member must have one; however, they are easy to acquire in the morning.

What does a tour price include?

Charters are up to 5 anglers and include the captain, all the equipment, food, and drinks. All excursions include all the beer you want to drink, water, soft drinks, snacks, fruit, gear, and a first-rate crew on board. The full-day and three-quarter tours also include lunch.

What is the difference between half a day, three-quarters of a day, and a full day?

Full days run from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and include lunch.

Three-quarter days run from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm and include lunch.

Half days go from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and do not include lunch. (We recommend this for inshore fishing only.)

What is the custom of tips?

Of course, it is at your discretion. Between 15% and 20% of the daily tour, most people are comfortable offering.

How long does it take to get to the fishing grounds?

It usually takes 1-2 hours, depending on where the fish are that day!

Can I bring my rod/tackle?

Of course!

Fly fishing gear?

We do not have fly fishing equipment on board; however, you can bring it! The Osa Sportfishing Tour crew is very knowledgeable about fly fishing techniques.

When is the best time for Marlin, when is the best time for Sailfish?

Fortunately, you won’t find any cold weather here, which is the first reason people get on a plane to travel to Costa Rica, but the second reason is that you won’t find any disappointing fish either. It is impossible to be disappointed with a fish in our waters, no matter what time of year you come. Primetime for Marlin and Sailfish is the months of March and April.

 Where are you?

We operate from the South Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica, one of the world’s best places for fishing. Our office is located in Uvita, Osa.

What kind of boats do you have? How big are they?

Our boat is _______ perfect to have a great day of fishing and do it for a great price.

Does it have an air conditioner? Or are they open boats?

We handle a fleet of open boats, allowing the wind to move your hair and allow for the perfect selfie.

Are your boats single engine or twin bolt? How fast do they run?

Can we do inshore fishing, bottom fishing, and deep-sea fishing on the same day?

We can do all kinds of fishing; however, we recommend focusing on one particular type per day for the best results.

Do we have the guarantee to fish? How many fish are we going to catch?

Our captains will do their best to achieve it and catch as many as possible! How many you fish will depend on the season and location; since we are operating in a natural habitat, there are no guarantees. Osa Sportfishing Tour hires the best captains in the area, all of whom have been fishing in these waters for a long time.

Are you catch and release? What / how many fish can we keep?

Like all companies in the area, we work as a catch and release with Billfish due to Costa Rican law (i.e., Sailfish and Marlin). All other types are eligible to catch and keep up to five fish, including Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Snook, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper, etc.

What’s your refund policy?

For Packages: 80% of the package’s cost if the cancellation made between 59 and 31 days before arrival; There are no refunds for cancellations received in less than 31 days or no shows.

For fishing tours: 80% of the rental cost if the cancellation made between 59 and 31 days before the rental date; No refunds for cancellations made in less than 31 days or no shows.
